  • Complaining about her leg hurting
  • Took her to the doctor
  • X-ray showed no breaks
  • Diagnosed with a sprain
August 15, 2014
  • First day of Kindergarten
  • First notice petechiae covering her stomach, back and legs
August 17, 2014
  • Develop a fever
  • Take her to the E.R.
  • Blood work shows very low platelets, normal white count (but elevated lymphocytes) and slightly anemic
  • Transfer to Stormont-Vail in Topeka
  • Meet the Pediatric Hematology Oncologist (Dr. T.) - she suspects leukemia
  • Received platelet transfusion
August 18, 2014
  • Sedated bone marrow biopsy
  • Dr. T. reviews slides and narrows down to ALL and AML
  • Marrow sent to Nebraska for testing
August 19, 2014
  • Receive platelet transfusion
  • Procedure for portocath placement
  • Chemo begins (Day 1) with a lumbar puncture and an infusion (through port), Vincristine
  • Official diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblasitc Leukemia, ALL, received
August 22, 2014
  • Second infusion of chemo, PEG Asparaginase
  • Received transfusion of leuko-reduced irradiated red blood cells
August 24, 2014
  • Receive platelet transfusion
August 25, 2014
  • Sedated for lumbar puncture for chemo injection, Methotrexate
  • Another chemo infusion, Vincristine
August 27, 2014
  • Released from the hospital 
September 2, 2014
  • Doctor appointment with chemo infusion, Vincristine
  • Dehydrated due to mouth sores given IV fluids
September 3-5, 2014
  • Everyday to the local hospital for IV fluids
September 8, 2014
  • Doctor Appointment with chemo infusion, Vincristine
September 11, 2014
  • Local lab to test her fibrinogen level, which was very low
  • Trip to Topeka for FFP (fresh frozen plasma) transfusion
September 15, 2014
  • Second bone marrow biopsy
  • Lumbar puncture for chemo injection, Methotrexate
  • Chemo infusion, Vincristine and PEG
  • Has been having bowel problems, tested positive for C. Diff
September 19, 2014
  • Finally received results from the biopsy: remission!
September 22, 2014
  • Lumbar puncture for chemo injection, Methotrexate
September 24, 2014
  • Developed a fever
  • Call the doctor and head to the hospital
September 26, 2014
  • She was given fluids and tested for just about every virus they could think of, plus blood cultures and everything came back negative. 
  • After an exhausting two days, where her fever kind of roller coastered but finally came down, we were released
September 29, 2014
  • Lumbar puncture for chemo injection, Methotrexate
  • With continued bowel issues she was put back on the medication for C. Diff
October 2, 2014
  • Local lab to test her fibrinogen level, still low
October 3, 2014
  • Trip to Topeka for FFP transfusion
October 6, 2014
  • Doctor visit with chemo infusion, PEG
October 13, 2014
  • Doctor visit with chemo infusion, Vincristine and Methotrexate
October 23, 2014
  • Doctor visit with chemo infusion, Vincristine and Methotrexate
  • Fibrinogen level checked, high enough that she doesn't need FFP
October 27, 2014
  • Doctor visit with chemo infusion, PEG
  • Hemoglobin low
  • Head to the hospital (across the street) for a blood transfusion
November 3, 2014
  • Doctor visit with chemo infusion, Vincristine and Methotrexate
